In this exhibition from what viewpoint does Woman, the female sex lead the way? I think that you feel it is good to be a woman !?

Women in media have a special place and they are an inseparable part of inspiration and creativity.  There is a long list of influential females who have not only directed but have turned the flow of things with their sheer genius.

I feel, one just needs to be a strong human being and hold ground maintaining their individuality.  It is foolish to think anyone else taking a woman's place in this world...there is just no substitute for us!

It is indeed good to be a woman..no doubt about that!  Enjoying womanhood is one way of living a blissfully happy life.

I have to ask you :) why did you pick this subject?

Having spent more than a year in London, I had to admit that fashion had a great impact and women were ideal topic for my works.  The art and culture of UK has been an inspiration with an added touch of my childhood memories and retro style of UK.

When did you start painting? What materials do you use?

I started painting at the age of two.  Infact, I won my first painting competition at that age.  Since, then I have always kept myself busy in drawings and paintings which became a serious past-time as I grew older.

I mainly use handmade papers for my works as I find them easier for my watercolours.  Sometimes I like to use stiff card papers and hardboards too.

Where do you live? Does the place where you live have any influence over you?

I live in India in a place called Vadodara.

My own place does provide me the comfort of enjoying what I do but till date I have not exploited the traditional style and theme of India much.  My work style is Indian but the inspiration comes from the places I have been outside India.

What gives you motivation in your life?

My biggest motivation is to do something new and beautiful.  I like nice visuals and that is the biggest factor.  Also, the temptation of meeting like-minded artists keeps me going.

Do you use models in your paintings?

I take some help from graphic images of models and their dresses but so far I have not had a live model for my works.

What plans do you have for the future?

I intend to continue doing my painting and promote my works all over the world.  Also, I would like to enter into art-related fields of fashion and prints.
